PPCPay-Per-Click advertising

Pay-per-click advertising is a search engine marketing scheme where you pay to place ads on search engines, advertising sites, or blogs, and only pay for them when somebody clicks through to your site. Hence pay-per-click.

There are numerous PPC systems out there, but the most popular by a long stretch are Google Adwords and Yahoo! Search Marketing. They can put you at the top of the search engine rankings for your chosen keyword, so long as you're willing to pay. You will see such listings in the results pages under 'sponsored links' or 'sponsor ads'.

A PPC campaign, correctly managed, can bring immense, highly targeted traffic to your website. In such a scenario it is essential that the landing page a user clicks through to is optimised specifically for their search term.
