Well the bunting hangs limp and the champagne has gone flat... It's the day after the site launch and we here at Essence SEO towers are feeling a little on the delicate side.

But a wiser man than me probably never said: “Don't let a hangover get in the way of a hard day's work.” So with that just-this-second-made-up proverb ringing in the team's ears they bravely crack on, cocking a collective snook at bleariness, stomach cramps, and tender heads.Which just gives me a moment or two to break away from the arduous task of link building and write this short and hopefully sweet post about the Essence SEO blog.

My aim here is to comment, enlighten, and report in various degrees upon the world of SEO and the satellites that orbit it, such as SEM, social media, social networking, copywriting and whatever else happens to float past the window or become the current flavour of the month. I hope to tear apart myths, deconstruct rumours, and generally give SEO the right royal kick up the rear-end it so often deserves.

But before you hit the Back button in dismay, it won't all be SEO related (just most of it). There's a bigger world out there and I'll be posting and commenting on that too. If something catches my eye or takes my fancy I might well mention it. “Life's too short to trawl the one path” as that same, imaginary wise man didn't once tell me.

So feel free to comment, bookmark, subscribe, or tell a friend. I'm in for the long haul.

But for now, I must bid you goodbye and return to the thankless task I'm engaged in. The team are getting restless and it's my turn with the whip...
