Well here it is... At last! The birth of Essence SEO. It's been a long and weary journey that's brought us to this point, but finally – after braving the fires and traversing the deepest chasms where many before us have been brought to a premature end – we have arrived!
The blood, sweat and tears have not been in vain, for here is the toils of our labour for all to see. Essence SEO...
... Right, enough of the melodramatics. What I'm trying to say here is that this is beginning of a new era, the next step for the Essence brand.
Essence SEO has arrived, and I don't think we could've chosen a more exciting and interesting time to touchdown and take those tentative steps upon the planet that is search engine optimisation.
The whole social media and web 2.0 thing has snowballed to an extent that few could've imagined a few years ago with everyone and everybody writing blogs, superpoking, digging, stumbling, sphinning, flickr-ing, and twittering their way across cyberspace at an alarming rate. This has opened up so many new and exciting channels for internet marketing, social networking and SEO.
There has also been, over the past month, what has come to be known in SEO circles as the 'Great Google Smackdown'. A term obviously lifted from American wrestling (can't see the appeal of it myself – sweaty men in leotards?). This refers to the recent wave of Google Toolbar Pagerank (keep up) updates that saw the big G reduce the visible pagerank of one hell of a lot of websites and blogs that deemed to be selling text links for the purposes of manipulating search engine rankings. This one has split the SEO community right down the middle and is set to go on and on, with the repercussions for these sites (loss of revenue, etc.) surely to be felt for at least the immediate future.
My own opinions on the matter will be brought to the fore in a future post as now is not the time for politics but one for celebration – for the Essence SEO team at least – as we look forwards to tackling all these new innovations, developments and techniques that I've barely even brushed upon in this post. That will be for another time.
So raise a glass with the team here, and here's to the future and Essence SEO. Good health!
